 | hi, bihira makabili ng venus flytrap, pero minsan meron sa mga trade shows, like yung flora expo last month sa world trade center. meron din sa mga fair ng POS, phil orchid society. usually ang mabibili mo yung maliit pa lang (juvenile, pero makikita mo na yung "flytrap action" nya. ) but with proper care mga two years maganda na sya. it's good to have this plant kasi conversation piece sya. namumulaklak din ito pag mature na. plant needs sandy(do not use construction sand), well drained soil, very little or no fertilizer at bright -indirect light. moist environment prefered but not neccesary :) hope this helps. |

| Hi, rodfish, thanks for your interest in helping me. I do hope my black orchid re-flowers again. Had I had the knowledge of orchid fertilization and contacts for seed flasking last december when it was in flower i could have produced a pod. The flower lasted for almost two months. In fact the photo I posted at POS came from another source. I will notify you when it blooms again. Thanks and hope you'll keep in touch. |
 | Make/produce a seed pod of black-orchid. I will do the seed/embryo culture in flask. I am not interested in growing them to maturity. You may give the seedlings to whoever need them. |

HEHE :) ako pumunta ako nung wednesday sa WAWA dam, may paliguan dun parang falls at malapit lang. free entrance pa at di gano matao. malinis pa at di pa gano commercialized. yes, mid summer na mabilis na matuyo mga plants, mas madalas na ko magdilig. meron ako mga pitcher plants, mutant fern, dwarf macopa, diferrent types of "weeds" i collected from my trips around the country.. i just think these neglected plants may hold some medicinal value. i'm still trying to discover though.. |
| ahh okay tnx sa tips. holy week na ano pla plans mo for this week? ako matutulog lang ako puyat kasi ako last week namaga nga mata ko nung sunday. summer na rin kawawa mga orchids. teka ano ano pla ung mga curiosity plants na meron ka. Nag try ako dati ng venus fly trap pero di successful un kasi yung time na laging umuulan at shady palagi. sige till nxt time. |
| Di naman condo, pero four floors, nasa rooftop ang garden ko. one side is dedicated to euphorbias and other curiosity plants. one side for orchids and bromeliads. try mo ilipat yung haynaldianum in a cooler place o kaya samahan mo ng ibang halaman sa tabi. try also checking the medium- it maybe too watery or too dry. ako i placed washed charcoal sa ilalim ng pot, about 1/4 nung pot, then osmunda (or fern fiber)with coconut fiber yung 3/4. kasi gusto ng paphs constantly moist medium, pero ayaw din naman yung may nai-istuck na tubig sa ilalim. yung charcoal bale for better drainage yun. ok, hope this helps. till next time. | baka nga nabili na. meron di ako paph haynaldianum, isang green at isang medyo purple. mahaba ang leaves nito at sabi nila cool grower daw, pero maayos naman ang tubo at bulaklak dito sa mandaluyong, kahit medyo mainit. nakalagay sa shaded part at medyo moist na lugar. hinaluan ko ng mga spatyphylum sa tabi para mas malamig. i just turned 30. you? :) |

di naman delikado ang paph anitum just treat it like any other paphs, plus it is a warm grower so we need not worry. btw saan ba ang location mo? :) |

| Mark i just made a quick face reading of your avatar, pero there are some other things to consider to make a very accurate reading. When i entered the group i was telling you about i was just curious- alam mo na pag high school mahilig mag-experiment. I left along with 2 of my friends- yung isa nawala na lang parang bula afterwards, yung isa nag-pari dahil lagi daw may sumusunod sa kanya, ako nagamit ko pa hanggang college but i noticed i always feel drained and sickly, kaya nag-fasting ako for 3days, at nag-concentrate na lang sa pagdo-drawing. It's best na wag na natin kusang i-cultivate ito (although it really is possible). Hayaan na lang natin na kusang dumating when the need arises. In this way we'll be sure na talagang may purpose ang gift na to at hindi lang nanggaling kung saan. til then, :) |
| hi, sa mga nagtatanong if I'm selling orchids.. sorry isa lang yung ganun ko na orchid (paph. anitum). Sheer luck lang na nakabili ako from a vendor sa baclaran. Galing silang province, naglalako. buti na lang nakabili na ko, kasi hinabol na ng MMDA wala raw permit. nung una di ko pa alam then I checked for its name at laking hinayang ko nang malaman ko na recently discovered lang itong species na to. Sayang, I should have bought more. Collector lang kasi ako di pa ko nagbi-business. I just posted the picture sa POS website for everyone's information. try nyo sa mga outlets na nage-specialize sa phil. orchid species,- by the way ang origin nung orchid ay sa surigao. hope this helps. :) |
| Talaga check ko nga farmers garden. jst curious anong basis mo sa reading mo sa akin na "If I'm not mistaken sa tingin ko medyo 'loner' type ka- mas malakas ang internal energy mo kaysa physical energy. You could become a 'sage". Gusto ko lang naman maintindihan ung mga things na i cant explain pero di ko naman pinapractice un. I used to attend yung monthly meetings ni Mr. Jaime Licauco. Nakaattend na rin ako ng seminar niya pati kay Anthony Vivero just to gain knowledge lang. Wala naman akong special powers although sabi lahat tayo meron siguro its not yet time or i have no use of it at the moment. ayoko naman ng mga organization na more on ritual di ko type un. Gusto ko lng maintindihan at malaman yung mga possible things na puwede nating magawa un lng. |
| Hi mark, i remember I saw a bright red Mussaenda at farmer's garden. Di ko lang sure if Dona Eva yun.. I was also into paranormal, I even used to practice Graphology and Face reading. When I was in high school i joined a secret organization of white witches- and from there I experienced a lot of things that made me realize that the world is not just physical- but indeed there is a spirit world and forces unseen yet they influence the world a lot. I continued on till college until i realized these practices drains some energy out of you, that's why I stopped. Once in a while nakaka-experience pa rin ako especially when I go to a new place, I seem to have visions of its past, -what happened there years ago. An expert told me it was Retro-cognition- or the ability to have Deja vus and visions of past events. He said all of us have gifts of the third eye- some are able to see the future, some able to look into other's minds, some able to harm others by just thinking, and many more. Lahat tayo meron one or two of these- di nga lang napagtutuunan ng pansin o naku-cultivate ng iba. It's like any part of the body na pag di mo nagagamit it shrivels and becomes less functional. | oo naka visit na ako diyan sa sunday market marami talaga diyan orchids pero ang trip ko yung mga persian kitten na binebenta. So my aquarium ka rin pala. I have 7 goldfish. Goldfish lang ang gusto ko ayoko ng iba na pinapakain ng fish din. sige |
| hi mark! i'll be dropping by the POS show this thursday and the following days. maga-attend ako sa seminars about orchid fertilization, native orchid culture at yung how to start a plant business. sana marami pa kong maabutan na species plant. like you, i also like pitcher plants especially the red ones. hindi sila mahirap alagaan yun lang they dont like chlorinated water. kaya what i do is let the nawasa water stand in a container for at least 3days at yun ang pinangdi-dilig ko. i also use yung pinagpalitan na tubig ng freshwater aquarium and it does wonders! by the way, have you visited the SUNDAY MARKET at the LUNG CENTER parking area? every sunday lang ito from 5am to 2pm lang. marami nagtitinda ng species orchids galing provinces, or straight from the wild. yun lang unahan dun .marami rin pitcher plants. i happen to purchase a paphiopedilum haynaldianum with buds for only 50pesos! what a bargain! ngayon in full bloom na ito and i've taken a picture of it para i-post sa POS gallery at sa orchidtalk forums (have you been to this site? maraming pinoy dito at info about orchid culture and lots of pics! ) try mo rin, http://www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/ till then. baka makapunta ka uli sa POS show, i hope to bump into you one of these days! :) |
| Art nakapunta k n ba sa POS show sa may QC circle? Nagpunta n ako last saturday pero walang masyadong tinda or more of walang masyadong tinda na gusto ko. Pero i purchased 3 species of phalaenopsis, 1 pitcher plant and 1 hoya multiflora. Pero maraming magandang commercial varieties sa exhibit. Gusto ko sana ung ground orchid na G. measursianum kaya lang P500 each. Punta ka don |
| I love collecting native orchid species, it started when i was still studying in los baños where garden shows are usually held every semester. I liked native species because in a way youre helping in their conservation (too bad i wasnt successful to some, and most that i have had already died). Paphs are good i USED to have philippinense, haynaldiana etc but they have succumed to some sort of fungal disease. Not only orchids but other native plants as well like medinilla, pitcher plant etc. The thing that i like with wild orchids is that their flowers are interesting to look at especially those with small flowers. sure id like to be your friend too. tnx for the reply |
| mabuhay! hello mark thank you for posting a message. i am not yet a member of POS, but i'm planning to join maybe next month when i'm not so busy. Yes, i am an orchid enthusiast, guess i was bitten by a wild orchid during my trip to laguna and became an orchidophile from then on. i'm interested in collecting paphs and all kinds of wild species. so nice to discover this site. i hope we could exchange ideas from here. i'd like to be your friend. :) |
